Landunter
project as part of the 'Fridays Forum' at the University of applied arts
Vienna, 2020

"Landunter" is a term commonly used to describe a situation where a person is overwhelmed with their duties or difficulties. During the workshop a group of participants is transformed into a fluctuating metropolis made up of well-known power centres of the world. Seemingly immovable skyscrapers are transformed into portable house capes for the upcoming march. In advance, each student selects a high-rise building that is related to climate change. At the beginning of the workshop, we presented our selection to each other, transferred the silhouettes of the skyscrapers onto a robust material, cut them out and transformed them into capes. Thus, on the one hand, centres of power are picked out and discussed and, on the other hand, the carrying of messages on one's own body is thematised.
