MINING: Funkhaus
Never at home, Resonances - Exhibition & Performances
at the former ORF Funkhaus, Vienna
with Friedrich Engl (MINING Kollektiv)
Copper is the gold of the construction site. During renovation work or demolition preparations, the valuable metal is the first to be mined and recycled. Ursula Gaisbauer and Friedrich Engl mine unused power cables from the Funkhaus, melt down the resulting copper and use it to cast an element of the iconic, listed staircase banister, whose design is reminiscent of horizontally mirrored tuning forks strung together.
